Square Footage Reference Guide

Working with square footage may be difficult for some in determining the appropriate sized area to treat and the amount of repellent needed. This strange unit of measurement may be tricky sometimes, so we’ve created a square footage reference guide to help better protect your property. When purchasing repellents, fertilizers, grass seed, mulch, etc. knowing the appropriate square footage ensures the best possible bang for your buck! We hope you find this guide helpful and thank you for choosing Nature’s MACE Animal Repellents. Linked Here is an area calculator you can use to figure out the outdoor square footage of a specific property…

With just a few easy steps you can figure out the square footage of a property. To personally compute the square footage of a property you must first measure the dimensions. If the area is rectangular you must measure the length and width. If your space is not a perfect rectangle, measure the widest and longest parts of the area.

Be sure that your measurements are in feet and if not convert them. Convert yards to feet by multiplying by 3. For example, if the area is 20 yards long, simply multiply 20 by 3 to get 60 feet long.

Once measured out use the area formula by multiplying the properties length times its width. For example, if the space is 25 feet by 20 feet, you would multiply 25 by 20 to get 500 square feet.

When dealing with a more circular area, measure the distance across (also known as the diameter). So once you have the diameter divide the number by two, square the result, and then multiply by 3.14. For example, if the area had a diameter of 20 feet across, you would divide 20 by 2 to get 10. Then square 10 to get 100. Next multiply by 3.14 to get 314 square feet.
